The society does not provide medical services of any kind, as its expertise lies in the areas of support, education, information and patient representation.
Kidney Society services are free for kidney failure families in Northland and Auckland, although membership is encouraged.
The Society works closely with the professionals providing medical care for people with kidney failure but is a strictly independent patient society providing support in the community.
Public Speaker available
Paula Daye is widely known and well respected in the NZ not for profit community. We are fortunate to have her as a part time member of our staff, and as our public speaker. She is available to talk about the work of Kidney Society Auckland, a cause she is truly passionate about, in exchange for a donation.
Paula has had more than 30 years experience in the health and disability sectors both in the UK and in New Zealand. She is a wonderful public speaker, having delivered many presentations at national and international conferences.
Paula's early nursing career led to senior management positions, including General Manager Kaipara Health Services and Whangarei Hospital, and CEO of Coast Health Care Ltd and the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind.
After leaving the Foundation Paula decided it was time to go out and "enjoy herself", and to take on a variety of causes and roles. She joined Kidney Society Auckland in 2007 as our Service Development and Project Manager, is a Board Member of Kidney Health NZ, Trustee of the John Walker Field of Dreams Trust, Appointing Director of the Mobility Dogs Trust and Panel Member of the Confidential Listening and Assistance Service, Department of Internal Affairs - with more roles likely to be added to the list. She is a member of the International Coach Federation and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management.
